Hi from Cologne Germany

Hi all,

I'm probably the first German to sign up in your Forum, hope not the last.

My name is Hubert and I am a Ford Employee in Cologne.

I'm despertly looking forward to have the Edge in Europe asap. :clapping:

At the moment I have a Fiesta for my wife, the Mondeo is driven by my son and myself is driving the Kuga MK1, Model 2011. That's the SUV we had in Europe before the US Escape came at the beginning of 2013. The US Escape is here the Kuga MK2. If you like to take a look at my Kuga and the modifications I made just click here

Further more I like riding my bike, a BMW R1100RT. :yahoo:

More information you might receive if you send me a PN (personal note).

Hi there from Germany!  Is the Kuga the same as our Escape here? We had a boxy version up until a few years ago.  Now it's a little smaller and sleaker.  Doesn't look as tough.

hi, yes and no. you have to look at it from 2 sides.

first in 2008 there was a new vehicle, designed in Europe, that's the Kuga MK1.

That's the one I have as you can see on my web site.

Then in 2013 Europe -let me put it this way- had to take the Escape. Changed the name to Kuga and that's made it to the Kuga MK2.

I really don't like the Escape. It has no real distinctive mark. It would have been better for Ford if they had taken the Escape frame and the custom body (slightly modified) from the old Kuga MK1. One will recognize the old version, the new one looks like every other small van.

In this Kuga/Escape mix, I'd love to see Ford bring back the Bronco and give it some "Jeep" characteristics.

Do you have the Ford EcoSport in the E.U. or are you getting it?

we do have the EcoSport. It's on the Fiesta B-platform.

Nice little car, would like to get one for my wife.

But the quality is really not on a level that I expect from Ford.

I assume the EcoSport will be produced at MCA in Craiova Romania.

Then the quality and the features available will increase.

The Bronco with a 2.3 litre diesel engine including some Jeep / Mercedes M elements, yea, that'll be a vehicle for me.

But driving a F150 or Raptor ......, one can't afford driving such a car in Europe. Gas consuption is just too high and taxes not to say insurance is too expensive. yea, I'll keep on dreaming coming back to the States.

I've only seen the EcoSport here in Dearborn on occasion.  I have not driven one though.  I am not too sure how that or the B-MAX would go over here in gas prices in such retreat.  It looks as though we're going to bigger and bigger vehicles. :(

Yea, you certain are right, vehicles get bigger and bigger.

But look at the EcoBoost engins, downsizeing the name of the game.

I am 6"2 and I love to drive the various US pickups and SUVs. But gas prices her   one can't afford it. Too many gal. on a mile.

My kuga needs 1.55 gal. per mile.
